Six New London Places for Summer to Try

Here are six new openings which came into London during June that are ideal for summer dining from Italian to pastries to Asian fine dining!

Circolo Popolare, Fitzrovia

Opened – 29th June 2019
Rating – 4.8/5
Price – ££

For foodies across London, you would have had to been under a rock if you haven’t heard of Gloria’s opening in Shoreditch earlier this year from Big Mama Group. Well, if you hadn’t then be the first to know that they have just opened a sister restaurant in Fitzrovia serving a similarly delicious Italian menu with strong links to Sicilian flavours and inspiration. Expect pasta, pizza and a great cocktail menu to indulge on a Friday night. Be ahead of the curve and get in quick before the queues are out the door.

Pasta Nostra, Old Street

Opened – 8th June 2019
Rating – 4.8/5
Price – ££

Another Italian, but another winner and this time just by Old Street station. Pasta Nostra is one for those who love classic Italian flavours in simple, yet tasty dishes. A range of fresh pasta’s made daily are available accompanied with ragu’s to mussels to pork cheek. Even better, Pasta Nostra offer a £10 takeaway deal for a dish of pasta, house focaccia and mixed leaf salad. How can you say no to that?

Lucky Cat, Mayfair

Opened – 24th June 2019
Rating – 4.8/5
Price – £££

This one has been spoken about for a while as a new restaurant coming to London as is from Gordon Ramsay but unlike his other previous across London in the years. Gordon has opened Lucky Cat in Mayfair with an Asian inspired menu and has a 1930’s style feel to the décor and layout of the restaurant. Expect bold Asian flavous across the small plates and even bolder cocktails to accompany the food. One to try for that next night in Mayfair.

Maremma, Brixton

Opened – 14th June 2019
Rating – 4.8/5
Price – ££

I swear this isn’t meant to be an Italian focused round-up of new openings but I guess it should be a blessing when so many good Italians are coming to London! This time we are south of the river in Brixton which has become a real foodie scene in the last few years and Maremma arrives with stunning Tuscan flavours and inspiration. The menu will offer antipasti, pasta, Tuscan classics including Wild Boar Prosciutto and there will also be a lighter snacks menu for those looking to enjoy a quick bite with a glass of Italian wine on offer. Another Italian pick to try when next going south on the Victoria line.

Orange Buffalo, Tooting

Opened – 4th June 2019
Rating – 4.3/5
Price – £

Renowned street food kings of chicken wings, Orange Buffalo have opened their first permanent restaurant in London which can be found in Tooting. Serving up their classic wings, fries and burgers and of course their signature buffalo sauce – make sure you go prepared for a feast and a half. Oh, and if you’re anything like me, don’t wear a white t shirt!

Pophams, Hackney

Opened – 12th June 2019
Rating – 4.8/5
Price – £

Let’s end on something sweet. Even if you don’t follow any food blogs on Instagram, you would have done well to have not seen at least one post or re-post from Pophams Bakery from friends in the last couple of years. Well, expect to see more as they’ve just opened their second venue in Hackney serving delicious pastries, coffees and fresh bread. This is the place to go for that Saturday morning pick-me-up latte and almond croissant and luckily for those living close to Hackney, they don’t have that far to travel now.
