This delicately layered patisserie sensation is the newest craze that London’s foodies have fallen in love with.

I’d heard rumours of a new patisserie opening in Paddington, but could not have anticipated the explosion of excitement that would follow! Within days of opening, I was seeing photos of Patisserie Mille’s crepes all over instagram- I knew I had to visit and try for myself.

Newly opened patisserie in Paddington – @patisserie_mille ! Honestly, prepare for a praise of all of their mille crepes (and a warning that with the perfection of the mille crepe itself that they have, my opinion is only a personal preference). So, firstly, the hype about matcha is real! It is strong, creamy and super well balanced. By far the best I have had in London thus far. If you like black sesame, like I do, it is also a super great choice, as I think with all their flavours, they really perfected the balance and it feels like eating black sesame all throughout! I think the chocolate in this picture was my least favourite, still good nonetheless, jut not for my taste. But personally, along with matcha, I enjoyed passion fruit the most. Super fresh, bit tangy but super good. Excited to try more flavours! Also, a shoutout to their cloud drinks, the cream was superb! For those in the know, owners Yulei and Calvin have been selling their crepe cakes for over a year, via WeChat. They’ve finally opened their shop to much acclaim from the foodie community, and with good reason. Yulei studied at Le Cordon Bleu, and alongside her husband has made it her mission to craft exquisite, perfectly made crepe cakes with vibrant flavours, using only top quality ingredients. Fresh, paper thin crepes are sandwiched with layers of silky french patisserie cream to create a gorgeously indulgent treat.

The hype is real. These Mille crepe cakes were so perfect in every way. The layers of crepe to cream ratio was on point and the jello cream on top of the chocolate and earl grey tea cakes were such a nice and different touch to the cakes! Here we got the sesame, matcha, earl grey tea and chocolate flavoured cakes. My absolute favourite is the sesame and chocolate flavours, neither of them were too sweet and flavours of all cakes were strong enough 😋 Although the edges hanging out of the cakes were a bit dry so I avoided those parts 🤭 Also I loveeeed the grape calpis but I wished it was served cold maybe with ice? but still was pretty good. I love that they specialise in Mille crepe cakes too, that’s how you know it’ll be good 😁👏

Alongside the classic ‘plain’ crepe cake, they offer enticing flavours such as passionfruit, earl grey, coffee and sesame. Their matcha crepe cake is made with highest grade matcha powder imported from Japan, and their chocolate crepe cake is made with Valhrona chocolate. All their cakes are made with very little sugar in order for the natural flavours to shine through- once you’ve tasted them, you’ll know this was worth it.

As a specialist in creating these labour-intensive cakes, the team at Mille Crepe refuse to sell anything but the freshest, most perfect product, so make sure you arrive in good time to ensure you get what you came for! And if it’s a special occasion, they’re happy to take large orders or orders for whole cakes as long as you order 24 hours in advance. Alternatively, their standard takeaway packaging is more than elegant enough to make a beautiful and thoughtful gift (hint hint, guys!)

@patisserie_mille The newly opened Mille Patisserie is a definitive contender for the best mille crepe in London! Soft and creamy yet light as air. Not to mention each one pretty as a picture! I 👉👉small but cute little shop. I 👉👉👉My favourites are the Matcha and Earl Grey. The sesame was slightly disappointing as the sesame taste wasn’t strong enough and therefore a bit too creamy overall. The passion fruit is a nice refreshing flavour to opt for if you prefer fruity. The chocolate is made from 70% dark chocolate so it’s the proper stuff for chocolate lovers. Oh! Don’t forget to try the iced tea if you visit! This one pictured was the salted cheese top mango tea. There’s also a strawberry version. I’m not usually a fan of bubble tea type things but this was absolutely delicious! (Much better than Yifang in my opinion 🙈) You can taste that it’s made from real and good quality tea. Perfectly balanced flavours and not too sweet. Overall I can see @patisserie_mille is going to be another one of my regular “investment” shops. But trust me. It’s both money and calories worthy 😂 I Verdict: 4.5⭐️/5 I #newopening #london #timeoutlondon #millecrepe #patisseriemille #millepatisserie #foodie #londonfoodie #eaterlondon #eeeeeats #foodphotography #toplondonrestaurants #londontoprestaurants
