5 New Openings across London from July and August

Five new restaurants across July and August that have opened their doors in London!

It's been a very different last six months for everyone but no more so than our restaurants in London and the hospitality sector. The 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme across August looks to have been a huge success with many restaurants and street food vendors taking this forward in September which is great to see. Fortunately, we've started to see some new openings in London and I've picked out my top 5 which opened their doors in July and August.

Sugoi JPN, South Wimbledon

Rating – 4.9/5
Price – ££

Sushi Tacos – the food fusion crossover you didn’t know you needed but it’s now the food you absolutely need! The flavours on these nori tacos are delicious and are soon to be the next sought-after food across London. The seaweed wrap around your standard sushi is deep fried into a taco shell and filled with great sushi flavours, my favourite being their ‘Rumba Taco’ – crab stick with masago and salmon. Huge shout must also go to their sides as well in particular their chilli chicken karaage which is a winner. For those that love food crossovers and street food, this is one to go for.

Wingman’s, Soho

Rating – 4.8/5
Price – ££

Love fried chicken and wings? Then if you haven’t already been, Wingman’s better near the top of your list. This is their second branch to come to London after their first branch in Soho and from someone who has queued for their wings at Wingfest for longer than I’d care to admin, they definitely know their stuff, in particular their buffalo sauce is as good as you’d get in London. For those seeking proper comfort food to make up for lost time this year, add Wingman’s to your list.

The Little Orange Door, Clapham

Rating – 4.8/5
Price – ££

I don’t usually include bars in these monthly round ups but when bars are delivering such good food options, I couldn’t leave out The Little Orange Door! Opened just next to Clapham Common station, they have all the comfort food you need with an excellent cocktail menu including fried chicken, bao buns and their house burgers. However, it’s their single dessert called ‘The Best F**king Chocolate Pudding’ which anything that calls itself that has to be ordered. Another new food and drinks option for those in South-West London.

Sollip, London Bridge

Rating – 4.4/5
Price – £££

I don’t think there are better food hot spots in London than London Bridge right now with huge street food from Vinegar Yard and Flat Iron Square to your go to classics such as Padella and Lobos. Sollip has recently come to London Bridge which brings high-end Korean dining from husband and wife Woongchul Park and Bomee Ki. Expect delicious Korean and European flavours delicately presented with mix of meet and vegetable dishes.

Six by Nico, Fitzrovia

Rating – 4.4/5
Price – £££

Six dishes over six courses that changes every six weeks. This innovative menu at Six by Nico brings together different themes to link together high-end dining plates. For example, the current theme is ‘Childhood’ which has dishes such as ‘Duck Duck Goose’ (Duck Brease with Gnoochi and Pumpkin & Black Garlic Emulsion) and ‘Ring a Ring a Roses’ (Savarin Crème with Raspberry, Lychee and Rose). For those that like something different from their dining experience, this is one to go for.
