A brief rundown of my five favourite places to eat at BOXPARK Croydon should you find yourself in Zone 5!

As BOXPARK Croydon has recently celebrated its first birthday and living in Croydon myself, I thought I would run-down my favourite five places I have been to (some twice, some more than twice!) to give you a brief guide for your next visit to Croydon. BOXPARK is next door to East Croydon station, a few minutes walk from the town centre and just over a 5 minute stroll from West Croydon so perfectly situated.

In no particular order, here are my top 5:

1. Coqfighter

Fried chicken and beer – two of my favourite things in one place. Coqfighter was brought to London from Melbourne and everyone who eats there will be pretty happy they did. An Asian influence on their cooking, my recommendation would be a portion of the K-Wings – double fried Korean style with a soy and garlic glaze which are perfect as a side dish to share with someone. If you’re in Croydon and fancy some fried chicken, go to Coqfighter.

2. Poptata

I’ve posted on my own Instagram page from these guys before and I still stand by what I said, Poptata do the best fries in London. What started as a street food stand on Portobello Road Market in 2015, Poptata are still there today but operating from both Shoreditch and thankfully Croydon’s BOXPARK’s. With plenty of sides, dips and styles to choose from (I’d always recommend the Parmesan in the photo below), Poptata is a must if you’re in need for a hot treat and is great value for money.

3. Dum Dums Donutterie

Fancy something sweet? A treat on the walk home from work? Then head to Dum Dums for some incredible doughnuts. These specialities are baked, not fried, and have enough options to appeal to anyone. If you’re still hungry after your street food of choice and craving something sweet, then head to Dum Dums.

4. Arancina

If you’re looking for a fantastic taste of Italy, then Arancina is the perfect choice. Roman pizza by either the slice or sharer pala, there is plenty of choices available to find the ideal toppings for you. To tailor your taste of either meat or vegetarian, Arancina also offer a number of pasta dishes including lasagna and cannelloni for you. My favourite so far is the Carnivora and would recommend picking up a loyalty card as you’ll definitely be back again.

5. Meat Liquor

In Croydon and would prefer to a sit-down meal than grabbing some street food? Then look no further than Meat Liquor. With a number of venues across London already, Meat Liquor has found itself to Croydon and the rule must be that when hungry, head there immediately and get everything with Dead Hippie Sauce. A meal out is around medium range for your budget and oh, make sure you include Monkey Fingers on your order.

Message me if you have any other favourite’s you’ve ate at BOXPARK Croydon which you think I’ve missed off!
