Enoteca Rabezzana, Italian wine, Italian food, in the heart of the Barbican.

Launched in 2015, Enoteca Rabezzana has a jewel of a location. It’s directly opposite Smithfields market, where they of course source all of their meat. Stripped back and very Italian in set up, think wooden tables, a half open kitchen, and more wine bottles on display than you can count.

A wine bar which also serves food, Rabezzana Vini hails from the lush Northern plains of Italy. Where four generations of the same family overlook their large estate of both white and red grapes.

If you’re into your wine, or you’d like to be into your wine, there’s a huge selection to choose from here. It’s easy to spend an evening tasting your way through the Italian sunshine. Manager Luca is a delight, obviously knows the menu like the back of his hand, and is always in sight to offer a suggestion or recommendation if you’d so like it.

The food is hearty and traditional, and although portions are a little small for the pricing, dishes are full of flavour and just right seasoning.

Sausage ragu on parpadelle; a saucy, cheese-y, meaty mass. 👌

The lamb chops are tender and delicious with their gorgonzola sauce, and the sausage ragu on pappardelle is just what a girls likes to devour on a cold, dark night.
So in short- if you want to try a wine bar with none of the pomp attached, then Enoteca Rabezzana might just be the place for you. Good food & good wine in a friendly and unpretentious setting.
